Visit from Troon Commodore

Sat 1st Feb  – The Commodore from Troon.

Trinity Bowling Club, Lomond Road, Edinburgh, EH5 3JS 7 for 7.30pm

Carolyn Voisey has had a varied relationship with the sea: – sailor, deliverer of boats, retired marine surveyor and volunteer standby engineer with the RNLI. She has been on approximately 200 shouts.

She is currently the Commodore of Troon Cruising Club, which like FCYC, provides affordable sailing for all.  Between 1976 and 1978, before Carolyn joined the club, it’s existence  was threatened by the building of Troon Marina. The issue reached the Houses of Parliament before a solution was found and Troon Crusing Club was saved.

Carolyn, a lively raconteur, will talk to us about some or all of the above topics.  There will be an opportunity for questions after.

Lift Out 2019

Ahoy Corinthians, just a reminder that lift out is set for Saturday 19th October.

Could all boat owners please let me know ASAP what there intentions are for the winter and lift out so the harbour guys can organise the yard etc. Do you want to have your boat in the yard, leave on the pontoon for winter sailing or other arrangements etc.

Rubbish!

Our refuse collection day is now Wednesday (previously Thursday) – if you’re at the yard, make sure it’s put outside the gates. You’ll see that we now have a much larger wheelie bin but if you’ve bottles, aluminium cans or cardboard, please take them home and recycle them.
