Lift Out Postponed

Ahoy Corinthians!

Disappointing news that the planned’s lift-out for Saturday 25th has been postponed due to high winds which are forecast.
The Met Office is currently forecasting an average windspeed of 21mph at 9am in the morning, strengthening to 24mph by 3pm, with gusts of 40-44mph throughout the day.

The next available date for lift out will be Saturday 1st November. Note that with the clock change on Sunday 26th, we will need to alter our start and finish times to maximise the operation in the daylight. Accordingly, members will be expected at the yard at 6:45am Saturday 1st November. Please check that your insurance is still in force on this date.

So, quite a bit of the harbour which never usually uncovers was, well… uncovered! Here, for the greater good of the mariners of Granton is a gallery showing what’s under your keel when you come floating into the pontoon.

Getting there!

We’ve got all the content up to the website now – including all the back issues of Fairwind – I do believe that there are some older ones in paper format so hopefully we can get them scanned in and loaded up too. It would be good to get some racing news and updates in this stream but I fear that’ll have to wait for the return of our Sailing Secretary who is off this weekend (with others from the club) to bring Aros More back from Copenhagen.

Welcome!

Welcome to our revamped website. We’ll be adding more content over the coming days, weeks and months! We’ve moved over to using WordPress as this will allow more club members to act as contributors, rather than relying on our Webmeister for everything. Having said that, much of the inital content has been lifted from the previous website, and it’s only right to acknowledge Jim Sime’s work over many years in keeping the club out there on the internet.
Onwards and upwards!
