This is for those of you who get automatic emails of new threads on the forum. If you have tried to access a new thread and got the message 'The specified thread does not exist', this is because the thread has been deleted.
From time to time the forum is the subject of spammers advertising various things. Some are blatant, for example the new 'Chrome' browser or 'Trek-style gadget to detect cancer'. Others are more subtle, asking a sailing related question but putting an advert at the bottom of the email.
Just thought you'd like to know.
I noticed a couple of posts which were off subject and have deleted them. Here's why.

The first post was an enquiry about whether Windows 7 or Vista is best. I left this as it may possibly have had a boating context. The second post by the same user gave 10 top tips for Google chrome. This smacks of advertising, as well as being off-topic in a boating forum.

(Please note, I left the obvious advert for the 'Pildne' floating fuel station because:
a) it is relevant to boating and may be of vague interest to some members, and,
b) although we are never likely to buy one, it is nice to dream that one day we might buy such an item from Latvia).
