Pontoon Terms and Conditions


  • Boat owners wishing to moor at the pontoons for 2 days or more must make prior arrangements with the managers before taking up position on the pontoons in order that a suitable berth can be arranged.
  • There is a reduced rate for 7 days (6 times the daily rate). This will only apply if pre-arranged with the managers.
  • The maximum continuous period that any vessel can stay on the pontoons during the sailing season is 14 days
  • Pontoon dues must be paid immediately after mooring on the pontoon facilities. Payment should be made at the bar of either the Royal Forth Yach Club or the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club and the receipt should be displayed conspicuously on the vessel which must itself be clearly named. Overdue fees will be invoiced to the owner and will incur an additional £5 administrative charge.
  • Vessels must be moored close together (about one metre apart) to make efficient use of space, using suitable mooring ropes (springs as well as bow and stern lines.
  • The pontoons are for the exclusive use of leisure vessels except where specifically detailed by the company.
  • An access key for the gate to the pontoons can be obtained by applying to the club bar of the RFYC or FCYC. Please ensure the gate is never left open while unattended.
  • 'Pontoon Rules and Conditions of Use 2008' are posted on the notice board at the top of the gangway and also in the RFYC and FCYC clubhouses.
  • Royal Forth Yacht Club and Forth Corinthian Yacht Club (the 'Owners') and The Edinburgh Marina Limited (the 'Managers') accept no liability for any loss or damage suffered by any user to their vessel or property thereon howsoever arising including any loss or damage arising out of the Owners' and their Managers' or their respective servants' or agents' negligence.
