Moorings

Club responsibility ends where the member shackles their own gear. In the West harbour members are responsible for laying all their own ground tackle. Mooring are allocated annyally by the Harbour Committee and applications must be made in writing to the Rear Commodore. Allocated moorings are not transferable. Members are responsible at all times for the inspection, maintenance and security of their moorings. Chain, shackles and other gear are provided by the Club and the Club workboat is for the use of members. New members must seek the advice of the Harbour Secretary on all mooring matters and carry out work on their mooring with an experience Club member. The Club also rents a line of moorings from the RFYC and sub-lets them to members of the FCYC. Members allocated these moorings are responsible for the security of junks and junk shackles. They must inspect the mooring regularly and report any defects to the Harbour Secretary immediately.
